Digital platforms in Society 5.0 heighten misinformation risks, demanding critical and ethical information literacy beyond technical proficiency. Addressing this gap, this study explores the pedagogical implications of Surah Al-Hujurat (49):6 through a Tafsir Tarbawi (educational exegesis) approach to formulate a Qur’anic Information Literacy framework. Utilizing qualitative library research, primary exegetical works by al-Ṭabarī, Ibn Kathīr, al-Qurṭubī, Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī, and M. Quraish Shihab were systematically analyzed alongside secondary literature on digital literacy. The findings reveal a holistic Qur’anic information literacy framework encompassing source verification, critical thinking, objectivity, moral responsibility, and communication ethics. The principal contribution is a five-stage conceptual model of Qur’anic Information Literacy: information reception, verification (tabayyun), critical analysis, moral-ethical deliberation, and responsible dissemination. Theoretically, this study bridges classical exegesis with contemporary digital literacy by integrating epistemic, social, and spiritual dimensions, moving beyond technocratic models. Practically, the framework informs Islamic education curricula to cultivate responsible digital citizens, though future empirical validation remains necessary.
